Cornerstone Equestrian, LLC
welcomes students of all ages and abilities.


As a student you can learn General Horsemanship and Safety, Barrel Racing, Cattle Work, and Speed Events. The focus during all lessons is on helping students develop skills necessary to make them complete, safe and have an effective working partnership with a horse.

-Beginners learn basic horse care, to handle, lead, groom, saddle, and safety precautions all while building confidence and having some fun!

-Intermediate to Advanced students work to expand their current riding and ground skills to achieve a deeper relationship and a more complex communication with their horses.

Rates are per person and include the use of a lesson horse. You may also trailer in your own horse.

If you are looking to give a horse a tune-up or to start a young horse, Chris is available to assist you in building a solid foundation.

Apprenticeships

We are fortunate to be able to offer a few apprentice positions to a select few.
In our apprentice program, we can provide you with the tools to make a hands-on effort in learning to better assist you to make a lasting career in the horse industry. You will start at the bottom and work up in order to learn ALL aspects of the business. This is a proven and true way to learn the business and gain success.
We, at Cornerstone Equestrian, LLC offer this rare and hands-on opportunity to those willing to pay for the education they get here with the blood, sweat and tears. Your only other cost will be for your food and spending money.
Your real pay is being able to learn from a successful team at a great facility. We have a great time but also get alot done. We teach stable management, breeding, break young horses, teach general horsemanship, and train working cow horses, barrel horses, and versatility ranch horses.
We have numerous clients that we give lessons and we give numerous clinics.
You work 6 days a week and do anything that needs to be done. Mostly your job will be to saddle horses, groom, maybe warm up and cool down horses, help with breeding and working with foals, feeding and cleaning stalls.
You would be given a project horse to start and train under supervision. You would also, on occasion, have the chance to ride one of the trained horses, and at least once a week you would be given a formal lesson.
You learn by being exposed and involved to the everyday decisions that make this team work.

If you are interested in this position: We will need a video of you riding a horse (Less than 15 minutes) and two references. One reference from someone that knows your abilities with horses and one from a person that knows your character and personality. Neither reference can be a relative.
We would also like to know more about you ie: likes, dislikes, hobbies, educational background, accomplishments, family, where you live, goals, future plans, etc.
You must be 18 years old.

Training Apprenticeships are available year round.
Breeding Management Apprenticeships begin January 1 and are available through June.

Make your applications at least 6 months in advance as many positions are filled quickly.
3 month minimum commitment.

Contact Chris at Admin@CornerstoneEquineCenter.com with your intended dates for your clinic. We will confirm the dates and send you the proper clinic contract, promo materials and flyers to include in your advertising. When your clinic is full, email us and we will consider the dates official. Cornerstone recommends that you request clinic payments in full from the participants at the time of booking to reserve their spot.

Clinic Layout
Problem Horse and Advanced Horsemanship Clinic
A 2-3 Day format will be most beneficial.

During the first day, in open classroom forum, participants will learn the fundamentals of the equine's thought process.
We will specifically address how the equine's actions and emotions can be interpreted, how to respond appropriately, and how to advance their communication skills especially addressing problem behaviors.

Sessions
We will take individual horses for hour long sessions and specifically target problem behavior or training issues. You will learn how to identify the horse's personality type and learn the correct way to teach the horse respect, confidence and trust on the ground as well as under saddle without the use of force.
Advanced riders will learn to fine tune their aids and organize them into a system using balance and breathing to influence the correct actions and reactions from the horse.

Cost

A flat rate of $500 per trainer per day plus daily expenses regardless of the number of riders signed up. It will be the hosts responsibility to divide fees equally among the riders and ride for free or charge accordingly and maximize a profit. Once the Cornerstone trainer's fees and expenses are met, the host keeps all other fees. 12-15 riders plus auditors is recommended.

  • Table/Stool or chair
Arena Particulars
  • Covered/Fenced
  • 60 ft. minimum width
  • Host is responsible for daily arena upkeep and dust control
  • Electrical outlets for sound system

Participants
May attend with horses in need of problem solving or are in need of fine-tuning in advanced horsemanship. It is required that problem horses are at least able to be lead into and out of the arena/round pen safely. All disciplines are welcome. Every clinic will include the 2 hour classroom/seminar session preparing riders for what they are about to learn.
  • It is imperative that ALL participants attend this part and sign the release of liability form BEFORE the start of the clinic.
  • Clinic host will provide a typed list of each auditor's and rider's name, address, phone number and most importantly their e-mail address.
